The Music Ministry of St. Paul’s needs you.
Are you interested in sharing your musical gifts? We have several different ensembles that have openings.
The following is a list:
The Adult Choir : currently made up of 30 members ranging from novice singers to professionals. This is a volunteer choir that rehearses every Wednesday and sings most every Sunday at the 11:00 service September through May. This group is open to anyone who is interested. Adult Choir starts rehearsals on Wednesday, Aug. 4, but it’s never too late to join.
The Consort: This group is an auditioned ensemble that requires choral experience and the ability to sight-read and maintain a voice part on their own. We practice every other Thursday and sing at least once a month at both 8:45 and 11:00 services.
The Handbell Choir: is comprised of 8 members ranging from rookie to pro. We practice most Sundays immediately following the 11:00 service at 12:30 for one hour. We play in church whenever we feel ready to do so! This is a low-pressure group, and we are always looking for new members.
The Bellus Ensemble: a new hand bell quartet created to provide more musically challenging repertoire. This group is currently full, but if you are an experienced ringer and are looking for a challenge, please let me know. We’ll see what we can work out.
The children and youth of St. Paul’s are going to be trying some new and challenging musical efforts. The children will have a musical in place of the traditional Christmas Pageant this year. It is going to be quite fun and different. If any youth are interested in creating a musical ensemble for a Sunday morning offering, I would love to talk with you…singers and instrumentalists, male and female. All are welcome. For more information about any of the above groups or if you would like to talk about other ways to contribute your gifts, please call Donna Stokes-Rogers at 790-0527 or on her cell at 481-5144. Her email at St. Paul’s is donna@stpaulsfranklin.com.
