Music Ministry Recruitment Time!
The choirs of St. Paul’s are taking a much deserved break this summer but are already looking forward to fall. We are anxious to find new singers and ringers!
The Adult Choir will start rehearsing in August on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. and sings most Sundays beginning in September at the 11:00 service. The Adult Choir also sings extra services and concerts throughout the year. This group is super-hardworking, but the payoff is time spent with church family and making beautiful music.
The Handbell Choir starts rehearsal in September on Sundays from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. just after the 11:00 service. We are looking for two more players in order to maintain a three octave ensemble. Some experience reading music is a plus for the handbell choir. We play in church several times a year and at Advent Lessons and Carols.
The Girls Ensemble (for girls in grades 7-12) and led by Randy Cox is looking for recruits as well. Randy has written a Christmas Triptych for this ensemble to be performed on Christmas Eve. The more the merrier are needed for this phenomenal event. We sing in church at least four times a year and also at Advent Lesson and Carols. The Girl’s Ensemble has rehearsed on Thursday afternoons from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the past, but we are considering a new time. Please call if interested and we’ll see if we can find a time to suit everyone.
The Children’s Choir ( for children in grades K-6) begins rehearsal in September on Wednesdays from 5:30-6:00 p.m. This choir has acquired their own set of handbells this year and is learning to ring as well as sing! We sing in church four times a year, including the 4:30 Christmas Eve service.
If you are interested and want more details about any choir, please contact Donna Stokes-Rogers at 790-0527, ext 18. Email her at donna@stpaulsfrnaklin.com. We would love to have you!
ALSO--a call to the musically inclined of St. Paul’s! If you are a musician and looking to offer up your talents on a more occasional basis than choirs require, please call Donna. There are always opportunities for those who want to serve.
